About the Vinyl Releases:
The newly released vinyl editions represent significant works in contemporary Brazilian music:

  • Höröyá [red]: The band's first album, whose name means "freedom" or "autonomy" in the Mandeng language, features Brazilian and West African musicians creating a dialogue between different cultural traditions 4.

  • Pan Bras'Afree'Ke Vol.1 [yellow] & Vol.2 [green]: These volumes showcase the band's collaboration with musicians from West Africa, including Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, and Senegal, creating a unique fusion of Brazilian and African rhythms.

  • Bugiganga Tropical Vol.4: The latest in Tropical Diaspora Records' popular compilation series featuring tropical grooves.

"Höröyá represents something truly special in today's music scene," said a spokesperson for Tropical Diaspora Records. "Their work doesn't simply appropriate African rhythms but engages in a respectful dialogue between Brazilian and West African musical traditions. These vinyl releases preserve important cultural work that reconnects Brazil with its African heritage through music" 1.

The band, formed by Brazilian and West African musicians, creates what has been described as "a powerful mix of percussion instruments from different cultures, such as sabar, atabaque, djembe, cuica, and dunduns," alongside instruments of African Griots including balafon and ngoni, combined with guitars, bass, trumpet, and saxophones 4.

"We are thrilled to host this partnership with Tropical Diaspora Records and welcome the incredible talents of Izzy, Carlos, and Renato," said a spokesperson for Patuá Discos. "These vinyl releases represent more than just music—they're cultural artifacts that document an important movement in contemporary Brazilian music. Events like 'VAI NA FÉ' are at the heart of what we do—bringing people together through the shared love of music and the unique experience of vinyl" 8.
