From the periphery of Francisco Morato, a matriarch raises her voice. No forgiveness. No reparation. Only the blood ledger.
merging from Francisco Morato, a dormitory city and one of the most violent peripheries in the São Paulo metropolitan region. ANANDA is not a typical debut artist. She is a mother, a permaculturist, a professor of physics and mathematics, an engineer, a popular educator, and a co-founder of the anti-genocide collective Alfanje.
Today, she adds another title: recording artist.
Her debut single, "Quanta Gota" (TDR077), is released on Morato Records, a new division of Tropical Diaspora Records® dedicated to music rooted in specific territories of struggle. The 7-inch vinyl at 45 RPM features the original track on Side A and an instrumental version on Side AA.
The song is a forensic indictment. Over a haunting, percussive soundscape, ANANDA names her enemies: liberalness, imperialism, structural racism, machismo, and the necropolitics that authorizes the extermination of her people. The chorus repeats a devastating question:
"With how many drops of blood, trampled, suffered, wept, sweated, erased, is the State built? Is the favela built? Is the slave quarters built?"
The artwork merges ANANDA's face with the topographic contour lines of Francisco Morato, her territory etched onto her image. The packaging includes a die-cut adapter (DCA) for immediate play, a paper envelope with lyrics, and an open plastic sleeve. No shrink-wrap. No excess. Just the music, the map, and the message.

This is not a debut that asks for permission. It is a debut that demands accountability.

Lyrics
Português do Brasil
O neoliberalismo, severa exploração.
produz perversamente, toda globalização.
Escravismo, imperialismo para colonização.
Funda necropolítica exterminando a nação.
Capitalismo, consumismo, comportamento banal.
Determinando a regra, régua métrica geral.
Venho do gueto.
Onde o povo pobre é predominantemente negro.
English Translation of the Song
Verse 1
Neoliberalism, severe exploitation.
PRODUCE perversely all globalization.
Slavocracy, imperialism for colonization.
Founding a necropolitics that exterminates the nation.
Capitalism, consumerism, banal behavior.
Setting the rule, the universal metric standard.
Machismo and racism, structural violence.
Hegemony operates the social genocide.
With how many drops of blood—trampled, suffered, wept, sweated, and erased—
Is the bourgeoisie and the State built.
Is the favela and the State built.
With how many arrobas of blood—trampled, suffered, wept, sweated, and erased—
Is the periphery and the State built.
Is the slave quarters and the State built.
And to save myself, I do not forget.
I have the cradle of my origin.
I come from the ghetto.
Where the poor people are predominantly Black.
Marginalized, erased, mistreated, and executed by the State.
That every day hunts poor people on the outskirts.
Criminalizing mothers every single day who are in the struggle for bread and for housing.
In the tears shed every single day, in the harried, suffering life in the periphery, in the periphery, in the periphery, in the periphery.
There is no forgiveness, there is no reparation for every mother's tear spilled on the ground.
There is no forgiveness, there is no reparation for the impact caused, the legacy of slavery.
There is no forgiveness, there is no reparation, there is none, there is none, there is none, there is none.
Who said racism doesn't exist in Brazil?
Never stepped into the 'hood and never felt it?
Who uttered the myth of racial equality in Brazil, in Brazil, in Brazil.
Brazil, who the hell birthed you?
