LEVANTE! Feat. Dr.Dedoverde

As expected, my desire to do what I love most prevailed. What was kept for a decade, due to life's challenges, has now taken shape and is about to echo.

It is with joy that I present to you LEVANTE!

This is the first track of my solo album, created in partnership with Dr. Dedoverde.

Dr.Dedoverde was a reggae/hip hop/dub band created and led by Alex Romariz, which performed in the early 2000s and ended its activities in mid-2010.

LEVANTE! will be released on 10/27/2024 and will be available on all digital platforms by Tropical Diaspora Records®️ 🍉 (Germany).

LEVANTE! was born from an idea based on mistakes and successes, where in the lyrics, Alex Romariz emphasizes that giving up is not an option and it is never too late to try again and start over.

I dedicate this release to a woman who fought bravely for 95 years and always kept her family together. Rest in peace, Dona Irene. We will miss you. In Memory of!

There is a story to be told. It began with the march of the maroons. When ska slows down into its most extreme form, as it is dub, the music stretches its bass line to cover more land, as to create an invisible wall that threatens the ship in the horizon. The sound system is magical, its sound is allurement. It can only be heard by the slaves that populate the colonial ship. The sound system drives them to rebellion and the ship sinks while the brothers and sisters get into the shores of the new land. There, the process of reconstruction of a true radical universal democracy begins. Nobody remembers the bodies of the oppressors sunk down in the waters of history.
