The Keepers – A New Way to Sustain the Current
Tropical Diaspora Records was founded on a simple, uncompromising idea: that the music of the Afro-diaspora is not entertainment. It is memory. It is resistance. It is a vessel for stories that were never meant to survive.
For years, you have supported us—by buying records, by showing up, by carrying these stories into your own homes and communities. Now, we are inviting you to go deeper.
Introducing The Keepers.
A fellowship program for those who understand that this work is not transactional. It is a commitment. A commitment to the artists who pour their histories into grooves. A commitment to the ancestors who circled the Tree of Forgetfulness and refused to forget. A commitment to the Orishas of communication, who remind us that no message ever arrives intact—and that the journey itself is sacred.
Inspired by the words that have guided us from the beginning:
"There are men that fight one day and are good, others fight one year and they're better, and there are those who fight many years and are very good, but there are the ones who fight their whole lives and those are the indispensable ones." Bertolt Brecht
The Keepers are those indispensable ones.
Four Commitments. One Path.
We have designed four tiers to match the depth of your dedication. Each one is an act of solidarity—a way to sustain the label, the artists, and the living archive we are building together.
| Tier | What You Receive |
|---|---|
| The Indispensable Commitment. |
An ongoing commitment at the crossroads. The crossroads is where Exu stands, the Orisha of communication that never arrives intact. Continuous access to the collision of rhythms and stories that will not leave you indifferent. |
| The Essential Commitment. |
An Ongoing commitment at the crossroads. The crossroads, where the Orisha of communication is found, Exu generates dissonances that must be sealed. |
| The Very Good Commitment. |

| The Good Commitment. |
A year-long commitment at the crossroads. The Orisha of communication, Exu stands at the crossroads placing nourishment's for the journey. This subscription gives access to annual releases as well as selected records and items from the collection at a discount. |
All tiers include the freedom to cancel anytime—but no refunds after payment. This is not a subscription in the passive sense. It is patronage. It is partnership. It is a declaration that this music, this history, this future, is worth fighting for.
Why Now?
The Keepers is not a new idea. It is the natural extension of everything we have always been.
When we released TDR#1, we dedicated it to the ancestors who were forced to circle the Tree of Forgetfulness. We promised to transform that tree into a network of remembrances. The Keepers are the roots of that network—the ones who ensure the stories keep growing, keep branching, keep reaching new ground.
When we speak of the crossroads, we speak of Exu, the Orisha who opens paths and carries messages that never arrive intact. The Keepers stand at that crossroads with us. You ensure that the message—the music, the memory, the resistance—arrives somewhere. Arrives with someone. Arrives intact enough to pass on.
