We're thrilled to receive a special vinyl pressing of Sotaques, the debut album born from the collaboration between Serelepe and the legendary Pop&Jazz Orquestra.

This is a landmark release: the first album in the 40-year history of the Pop&Jazz Orquestra celebrating the ensemble's founding in 1985, under regent Célio Paula. What makes this record truly special is its bold fusion, bringing together traditional forró pé-de-serra with the full power and sophistication of a jazz big band. Produced and largely arranged by the visionary Brazilian percussionist, handpan player, composer and producer Luccas Martins, Sotaques expands the possibilities of both traditions while remaining deeply rooted in them.

Across eight tracks, more than 55 musicians weave accordion, pífano (a traditional flute from Northeastern Brazil) and rabeca (a Brazilian folk fiddle) together with trumpets, saxophones, trombones and vibraphone, alongside tuba, seven-string guitar, berimbau and cuíca, creating a rich dialogue between tradition and modernity. The album also features remarkable guest appearances by Lia de Itamaracá (Latin Grammy winner), Ricardo Herz, Trio Macaíba, Eloá Puri, André Prando, Douglas Lopes and Mestre Lua de Olinda.

This special edition LP was pressed in Germany and features stunning artwork by illustrator Manel Fogo, under the artistic direction of Giulyanna Cipriano, inspired by the visual language of cordel, the traditional folk literature of Northeastern Brazil. The result is a collector's piece that captures the vibrant spirit of this historic collaboration.

More than just an album, Sotaques is a celebration of Brazilian musical heritage and a milestone for the music scene of Espírito Santo, a coastal state whose rich artistic identity continues to shape new paths in Brazilian music. Come grab a copy and experience it the way it was meant to be heard: on vinyl.
