Afro Diaspora Crossroads

Based on a true story, this is the encounter between spirits of the Afro-Diaspora in a musical crossroad featuring artists from the continents involved in the greatest cultural experiment of human kind. Despite the horror in this experiment let´s focus in the musical culture the outcome of this encounter, this is what this mix tape is all about. The cry from the suffering in the north gave birth to the Blues and in the south to the Samba, in the crossroads of the continent the music was the means of relief, salvation, redemption and elevation for whole generations. With this intention in mind I have created a new series of Mix Tapes based on Tropical Diaspora® Records original idea, also to create a narrative, musical and otherwise, about the people that crossed the Atlantic from Africa to the “Americas” and gave rise to different cultural expressions that reflect both the horror and hope of that experience.
